I LOVE the fact that we all live so close (except for a super duper Aunt EJ and the husband’s sister’s lovely family).
In this 20 Days of Thanks, I knew I would mention our fabulous fam. But this year it seems like I am even more thankful for their close proximity AND love. With our impending unemployment, we really can’t say where we will be living this time next year so I have decided to soak it all up.
This is a first. We have been married 12 years and this is the first year we will be with both sides of the family on Thanksgiving day. I must say I am a bit giddy about that fact. I won’t mention the two members who have chosen to go watch the ‘Boys instead of partaking in a Thanskgiving Feast with the rest of us. My ten year old son is still a bit bitter about not being invited to the game.
I hope to have some fun pictures of our family posted tomorrow. I will admit that I am a bit relieved that I did not walk in on my mother bathing Tom this year. Last year I overheard her conversation with Tom and I was horrified. Go here for that odd story.
So I am so very grateful for my entire family, even for those who talk to turkeys. I didn’t say we were perfect, just loved!

I was just thinking of your mom’s turkey-talk today. You know how much your mom cracks me up.
Say hi to everyone for us and we wish you all a happy Thanksgiving!

Hey Cynthia-
I got your message when I got back from Addis but was jet lagged for the first 4 or 5 days and then kicked into full gear preparing the house for Thanksgiving/Christmas decor and company. My brother in law broke his upper arm playing in our church’s Turkey Bowl thanksgiving morning!! He had surgery today and I am taking care of their 3 kids.
I would love to catch up and see what God has on the job-front horizon for you guys.
I just got our papers from Buckner to start our adoption process!!
You are blessed. Not only to live close to family, but to have family you WANT to live close to…now that is awesome!!
Hey Cynthia,
It has been forever since we talked! Glad you guys had a nice Thanksgiving, and I can’t believe how big your kids are!
The Amans are doing well, except that I am fighting Lyme disease for the past year. Hope to find the right meds to make it go away.
Am homeschooling our bookends (Josh and Beth) this year. Josh goes to Chieftain twice a week. Can you believe I now have 2 teens…Tim turned 13 in November!!
Say “hi” to Donna Purdy! I’d love to catch up with her.
Give hugs to all. Tell Andrew Josh is still juggling, although I am discouraging him from juggling sharp knives! He does 3 balls, apples, etc well, and is working on 4. Love, Nancy
Yeah, missed you guys on Thanksgiving Day, too. But we sure did have fun cheering “Da Boys” on to victory!! The last Thanksgiving game in Texas Stadium. C’mon, we couldn’t miss that one!!
