Before and After

A few of you have been begging for pictures of our new paint.

I finally got around to granting your wish.

My husband and I started laughing at Pancakes for Parents last week when a teacher read If you Give a Pig a Pancake

If You Give a Pig a Pancake

If you have not read this (and other related stories) by Laura Numeroff, you need to.  It tells the story of a pig who gets a pancake and then needs syrup to go with it, then needs bath after getting all sticky, then needs . . . you get the idea.  The husband thought it sounded oddly familiar.

His version went something like this:

If you give a wife a painted house, chances are she will want new floors to go with it.  If you give her new floors, she will need a rug.  When she rests on the rug, chances are she will need new matching pillows.  As she is relaxing on the pillows on the rug in her newly painted house, chances are she will want everything new to accentuate the new Whole Wheat color paint.  She will then start on all sorts of new projects like painting and glazing the kitchen cabinets and painting the mantel black.

And chances are, once all the changes are completed (and paid for) . . . she’ll want some new paint to go with it.

Oooh, it looks so pretty! Loved the “If You Give A Wife A Painted House” version of that book (which is one of our favorites, btw) LOL!

Oh how pretty — I like how the Mantel really stands out now. I’ve got similar colored walls. I painted my whole house off of one paint strip. Lighter for small rooms, darker for big rooms. Except my bedroom — it’s the darkest… but it’s our “lodge” room. LOL Working on it anyway…

    Very pretty!! Lovely color choice.

    THANKS for sharing.

That is one of my favorite books, and I loved your version of it…as well as your new paint colors!
