Book Meme

I have been tagged by Anna.  Thanks, Anna.

On the way home from work this afternoon, I promised myself that I would NOT post anything until I finished a task I have been putting off.  Well, so much for that!  Like, so much for my good workout after teaching today – I came home and dove into the yummy corn dip my mother in-law brought to our little Super Bowl party last night and nibbled on the football cake I made.  What would I be if I was only a food junkie and not a workout junkie as well?

Oh!  Back to the meme.

Here are the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages.)
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

I turned my head to my husband’s side of the bed (our computer is in our bedroom) and found Pilgrim’s Progress byJohn Bunyan.

Well, Ignorance, wilt thou yet foolish be,

To slight good counsel, ten times given thee?

And if thou yet refuse it, thou shalt know,

Ere long, the evil of thy doing so.

Remember, man, in time:  stoop, do not fear:  Good counsel, taken well, saves; therefore hear.

Now I must grab an old English dictionary to interpret.  Did I mention this is my husband’s current book of choice.  And he is reading this for fun?  Did you know he is a genius?  Most people read this because they are forced to.  AND he asked for this book as a Christmas present along with a biography of Martin Luther King Jr.

Well, I can’t say too much, I asked for a Thesaurus.

I tag Lavender Chick, Pam, Jennifer, Lauren, and Michelle.

If anyone else would like to play, please leave a comment so I can check out your findings!

Say huh? I’m amazed at the books our husbands choose to read for fun. For FUN, Cynthia! What’s wrong with them?? ha! I wouldn’t have it any other way, I know.

    This is a fun meme!

Okay, I confess, I broke the rules. The closest book to me was a breastfeeding book, and sentences 5-9 on page 123 were all about “breast this” and “breast that,” which doesn’t bother ME but would probably bother some of my male readers (like my father-in-law and brother-in-laws, etc!). Ha! But I AM doing the meme…. I’ll just pick the second closest book to me.

    Thanks for the tag!

Sorry we weren’t around for the Super Bowl festivities on Sunday night. Mom says you guys had a good time! Go Giants! (…and that is the only time I will EVER say that!)
