Do you really want to know why I have not posted in days?

I realized that my blog has been put on the back burner lately.  I have confessed that being introduced to Facebook didn’t help.  Facebook is not the only reason for my absence although I wish that was all distracting me.

Here are a few things on my mind:

1.  Sick girly (yes, again – we have had a summer of sickness)

2.  I have spent over 16 hours in my classroom this week and still have a long ways until I will feel ready.  But who am I fooling?  Are teachers ever truly ready?

3. I am hosting a baby shower here on Sunday afternoon.  The only thing I have done to prepare is order flowers this morning.   Being this unmotivated for things of hospitality sorts is unusual for me.

4.  The pastor that was on the Guatemala trip with us asked me to make photo cards to pass out to the congregation on Sunday.  I won’t tell you how that is going.

5.  We were having friends over for supper tonight but Little Miss having a fever cancelled that.  The Lad has been crying about his friend not coming over.

6.  Remember all that organizing I was doing this summer?  Didn’t happen so now I am bitter that I must spend more time in my classroom than in my own closet (although it is so overcrowed, I wouldn’t fit).

7.  I have not carried on a lengthy conversation with the husband since last Friday on the plane.  I need time with him!  I am hoping for Mom to watch the kids for a few hours tomorrow so the husband and I can actually spend time together.  We will have a date in my classroom.  I plan on putting him to work.  Hey!  We will take whatever we can get.

8.  My motivation to return to the classroom this year is SLIM.  Very, very slim . I am fighting the tears and guilt of not being 100% available to my family.  Of course the extra cash from the part time teaching job is nice but I am not sure it is worth it.

9.  My big ONE YEAR of BLOGGING is quickly approaching and I need to celebrate.  Any ideas?

10.  Just thought I should end with ten, not nine.  I need to fold laundry, feed the children, and somehow coax Litte Miss to swallow 1 1/2 tsp of Advil.  That, my friends, is the biggest challenge I face.  She pukes every time we give her medicine.  Oh yes she does!

And that is what is going on around here.

And did I mention Facebook?

It seems that summer is a harder time to blog because we’re gone so much. I’ve also been feeling unmotivated and disorganized this summer and am trying to pull it together before our homeschool year begins (maybe next week!).

For my one year blog anniversary, I posted some of my favorite photos from the past year.

Believe me, I completely understand when you get behind on blogging… We’re glad your back – even though you’ve been two-timing us with facebook!
