Going on a picnic leaving right away…..

if  it doesn’t rain we’ll stay all day.  I’ll bring……………

I have played this little sing songy game with various sets of children.  Always a fun time waster.  We spent hours in the mess hall line at camp singing this little game.  All you have to do is come up with an item beginning with the letter you are on but first you must recite what all has been said leading up to your letter.  Of course this can turn into an incredibly silly event.

Tonight as my family was consuming warm chocolate dumplings, I suggested we play it but change it up a wee bit.  Some of us took it a little more seriously than others.  It is rather obvious the age of the suggester.

We are going to Zambia leaving right away (not until May), if it doesn’t rain (I am thinking more like a thunderstorm grounding us for hours) we will stay for many days………

I’ll take

An Airplane

C -the name of our middle child

DVD player

Finger Foods

G – the name of our youngest child

Ipod (although the initial item was an igloo – wouldn’t that be practical in Africa?!?!! )

Juggling stuff -I am certain the orphans at camp will ADORE our daddy the juggler. The Lad also said Jake, the name of a friend of ours.  Like I need one more kid to lug around!

Kisses for Daddy (keep in mind that Daddy will leave approximately four weeks before us)

Lollipops for all

Nana (my mom is unaware of this fact)

Octopus (I was thinking more along the lines of oral drugs – you know, 24 hour journey alone with the kiddos – I’m just sayin’)

Pairs of Pants

Queen of England – Evidently during our 12 hour layover in London, we are fetching the queen to join us for our leg to Zambia. Won’t she love that invitation?!?!

Radical Red Rooster (I hate to admit that the husband suggested this)

Snakes (I am definitely thinking snacks, not snakes)

Tooting Toys (remember that I have a ten year old boy-a very silly ten year old boy)

Ugly Underwear

Wet Wipes (lots and lots)

X-marked x-ray (apparently the Lad has been reading about this in his new mystery novel)

Yo-yos (won’t the fellow on the aisle next to us love that one whopping him in the face?  Oh!  Please don’t be a crowded flight!!!)

ZOO!  I will be officially escorting members from the Knightly zoo to Zambia.
