First Day

The first day of school was a success!  Despite Mom being exhausted (waking up early, teaching two dozen preschoolers all day and THEN sitting for an hour in the brutal Texas sun doing carpool duty might have something to do with that), the kids all had a good experience on their first day.  Little Miss left with a happy attitude.  Pumpkin went from knowing no one in her class at the beginning of the day to having a play date set for this weekend by the last bell, and the Lad, well, he didn’t have anything BAD to report so we’ll take that as good news.  All in all we feel very blessed and excited to be a part of our new school district.  For a public school system, it is a very family-oriented place (the principal was at school on Sunday with her dad painting one of the restrooms – what does THAT tell you?).  Although it will certainly have its moments, we are looking forward to what this school year has to offer us and our children.

Here are a few pics of the “launch”:

Happy brother and sister . . .

. . . and cute Little Miss!

and Pumpkin with hers . . .

We hope and pray that our first day’s experience is a sign of good things to come!
